You would probably think, before you saw the title, that this photograph where taken in winter months but no this photograph is taken in my garden on 30th of April 2011. :)

So we are still waiting for the summer here in Iceland... the spring didn't come hopefully the summer will. :)

On 6th of January 2011 we had a spectacualar color show in the skies over Iceland due to extremely cold conditions in the Stratosphere. I had never seen anything like it before so I was out in extremely cold weather for hours to capture the show. :) Unfortunatly my tripod damaged and later went kaputt. :(

So I'm looking for replacement right now. :)

Cold River Stream

The first two weeks of this year was really cold but because of the fast river stream it didn't freeze over but it sure was cold. :)

Cold Raw Nature

When it gets cold here in Iceland, it gets really cold but still the raw power of rapidly flowing water manage to break free from the cold grip of ice and snow.

It has been really cold here in Iceland and the temperature in the Stratosphere is even colder. It has been so cold in the Stratosphere that these amazing clouds called "nacreous clouds" appeared in 3 days in a row (4-6 January). The temperature needs to be -80 degrees Celsius in the Stratosphere for these clouds to appear. This photograph was taken on 5th of January around sunset.

Lunar eclipse

Today we had amazing lunar eclipse and fortunatly the sky was clear and visibility great. It was VERY cold though!

A small church in Njardvik which is a small village near the Keflavik International Airport. I work in this church as an organist when I'm not photographing. :)
